Ambelia Village is not just a small family run hotel. We believe that our personalized, individual and intimate atmosphere makes us so distinctive. That's why many of our customers are convinced that we are the true and only Country Hotel in Northern Cyprus. We grow our own vegetables, make our own olive oil, use the fruit of our own fruit-trees. We know that this makes us very unique here in the northern part of Cyprus. And we are proud of it.
Ambelia Village is a picturesque holiday village, nestling in the Five Fingers mountain range in Northern Cyprus in Bellapais (near Kyrenia). Our hotel rests 1000 feet above sea level on a terraced hillside. From every balcony and patio in the village you can enjoy the panoramic view of the northern coastline and the beautiful harbour town of Kyrenia (Girne) which is located just four miles to the west. With the sea in front of you and the mountains as the backdrop, you will feel surrounded by nature in Ambelia.
We truly believe that we got the most beautiful outside bar of the island with its spectacular view onto the Bellapais Monastery, the sea and the town of Kyrenia and its harbour. And we bacame very famous for our restaurant, which mainly serves local dishes. Our chef is a true Northern Cypriot. And that is why he cooks like his mother did.
Ambelia Village is an ideal spot for walkers. A network of hiking paths into the surrounding mountains is literally just one step away. Nature lovers enjoy the spring time when Cyprus becomes a paradise for birdwatchers and there is a profusion of wild flowers including orchids, cyclamen, irises, rock roses and anemones.
Within five minutes walking distance from Ambelia, you find the historic village of Bellapais (Beylerbeyi). This became famous through Lawrence Durrel's book "Bitter Lemons".
The unique location and the facilities of Ambelia Village appeal to many kinds of holidaymakers. However, the steps between terraces may not suit people with disabilities.
