Saray Hotel is the first Turkish Cypriot Hotel

built by the Vakif. [Unlike any other foundation, the Vakif (or Vakf) is a religious foundation]. The construction of the hotel began in 1959 and continued for three years and finally in the March of 1962 the hotel began its services.

Saray Hotel has 72 rooms and 144 beds. The rooms have central air-conditioning, a TV, a telephone, and a mini bar. The hotel also has a disco, an American bar, and a casino. The center of attraction in the hotel is the roof restaurant-bar, once here one has a bird's eye view of Nicosia. Located in the very center of Nicosia, Saray Hotel offers its guests the practicality of being close to public transportation and the city shops.
